I had already known this would be a problem so I bought a cheap Tracfone Samsung J3 Orbit Android phone for $49 on sale at Target store just for the express purpose of using it to pair perfectly with the Parrot Teleprompter 2. The device can only reasonably hold a phone with a screen no larger than about 5 inches otherwise a larger screen phone will extend too far wide beyond the borders of the viewing area. My only complaint is the bottom spring loaded part needs to be larger to accommodate larger phones. The build quality is decent on the device. Overall, I'm satisfied with this teleprompter, it pretty much does what is advertised and the price seems fair at around $140 including the remote control which is very important. Okay, so I've had a chance to play with my new toy for the past couple days. Please do get back to us on how it works for you. That way you don't need an extra person to handle that function. But what's cool about it is that it comes with a remote control so you can speed up the text, make it larger, go backwards.
I'm still waiting for my device to arrive by mail. I'll be interested to see how you get on with it.
However, experienced presenters also know how to learn their lines, so need teleprompters less.Īnd have you noticed that they are not really suited to one-man crews - for best results you need an operator who works with the presenter to keep the text moving at the right speed at each stage of the script.īy the way, That looks like a pretty small screen to use at 2-3m (6-10ft) away as the guy in this video claims. My experience is that experienced presenters know how to cope with them but your typical non-pro .or.she.
